KL and almost home

Gday all.
Everyone is relaxing and sleeping in their rooms before the flight home. I am up and cant sleep - I want to sleep on the flight if Rosy allows.
We praise God for watching over us and we are all completely humbled by what He has done and continues to do through us.
My favourite quote of the trip - "You are the most unmature of the preachers here, but God has spoken through you mightily. That was a message for me" Pastor Robin of Karachi after I shared a word at his church on Sunday. I couldn't of agreed more.
My favourite experience - standing on an intersection of the dirty, crowded backstreets of Karachi, up the road from where Wil grew up, 1000 people up the street in front of me, around another 1000 people up the two side streets, drinking in the word of God. What an awesome priviledge as so many came under the gospel, recieved salvation and experienced Jesus' healing.
Thnak you all so much for your prayers and support. It was physically felt many times.

We have all learnt a lot and must come home now and 'ponder them in our hearts'.

Look forward to catching up and boring you all senseless with our stories.

Craig

Time to go home

Wow, what an amazing trip. We are sitting in Marriots looking to kill some time before our flight leaves for home tonight. We have been blessed and so have the people we have been privileged to minister to in so many ways. 300 pastors were expected at the pastors conference in Karachi- over 700 turned up. Many spoke of being greatly encouraged and blessed through the conference. Thousands attended each night of the gospel crusades, with hundreds standing to commit or recommit their lives to Christ. Many testified of having being healed at the crusades of problems they were afflicted with. The girls have shown the love of Christ to many children and helped parents think about children's ministry. We have learnt so much and experienced so much over the last 2 weeks. Thank you to all who have prayed so much for us, we have truly felt it. We praise God for all He has done.

Hey hey its Pakistan

GREETINGS FROM THE MARRIOT AT KARACHI!!!
Sorry we have been slack with all these blogs but time has been SHORT!
Since leaving India so much has happened, we got to Karachi and then flew to Islamabad only to bus it to Jhelum to meet our bible school. Lets just say those kids are incredible! (We were all blown away!)
At Jhelum we got to pray for a beautiful girl who was crippled with shame and guilt as well as physically and we saw a massive improvement even before we got out of that house. God will bless this country :)
So after 2 days in Jhelum we flew back to Karachi to visit the womens adult education center, to see such women read for the first time in front of others, beaming proudly... it was just so encouraging to see! Lisa was able to encourage them, and I said thankyou on behalf of the team and our church (it was live on web-tv, if you want to watch us working in Pakistan its on this website ' www.pakwebtv.com '. I think the meetings are approximately from 4pm-8pm Sydney time and the crusades are from like 1am to 3 am roughly.
I wish i could tell you more, India was amazing and we are seeing that Pakistan will be too. I want to personally thank you for your prayers, when the plane landed at jhelum we all felt very down, I know I did, but after speaking to you and asking for prayers we felt better, an hour later we were laughing and posing for photos and it was like the sadness was never there. Thankyou for your prayers, we feel them, we need them. This is a spiritual battle, and while we are running on the ground you are keeping post a little further away, but your position is just as if not more important.
God bless you all.
Pray for us.
We love you.
We are amazingly well.

Live from KL

Hey all,

We are in KL waiting for the Karachi flight.

We are all well, a little overtired and a little bit silly.

Last few days have been amazing - God has done some pretty amazing things.
Last night of the crusade outside of Hyderabad (place called Warangul) was brilliant. At least 150 came forward to receive Christ or at least rededicate their lives. Paul, Phil, Jacqui and Craig spent a lot of time after praying with people for blessing, counsel and healing. We have seen God do some amazing miracles this week - no other explanation. Rose and Lisa had gone ahead to the Joyland Orphanage and shared with the kids - God was with them as well and they have great testimonies to share with you.

Church yesterday we split up.
Rose & Paul to Joyland Orphanage church - Paul led a few young men to the Lord and Rose spoke well to all the teens who will soon be leaving.
Lisa & Phil went to a church in the north of the city, both shared the Word - Lisa was able to encourage the women - and men - re 5 Love languages. - God moved powerfully with them.
Jacqui & Craig went to a small church in central Hyd. No foreigner had ever been invited to preach there - it was an honour and blessing to share with them. God helped mightily and his love was very real.
Ben Wu: I emailed you through Melody, forgot to say mate that I love your family for the time you are investing in mine while I am not there. I may never be able to tell you how much that means. Thankyou Sharon.
Ruth Young: Phil is doing great - God is stirring him up in ways that he has never before - he'd tell you but he is asleep.
To PCC: hey church thanks so much for your love and Prayers. Am glad you could see the blog - we were thinking of you at church time - maker the most of prayer Tues night please - this week will be a step up in many ways - we now really covet your prayers. I think we are all a little apprehensive about the next leg. Thankyou for supporting us.

I think I will go wake up Phil and Paul- girls are shopping (danger!) .

Love to all of you from all of us

PS - hows about some comments on the blog - wouldf love your feedback.

India is very very nice!
Praise God for all he is doing through the team.
Many have been blessed by Phil, Paul and Craigs ministry at the Pastors conference.
Many have come forward for Salvation at the crusades and both Paul and Craig have had the immense priviledge of leading people to salvation during the Pastors conference.
Jacqui is the Princess Diana of the team, she is a superstar who takes the breath away of all the local people. God has used her in extraordinary ways in the villages and at the crusades in prayers of blessings and healings for people.
Rose has fallen in love with any number of local children at the orphange and has been a real help to the teenagers who are about to enter work and university. She is also the team comedian and rarely stops talking!
Lisa taken on a teaching role with wives of Pastors who are in need of encouragement. The team are all well and praising God for the Spirit of love and unity that exists between us.
We are finding that although we are all gifted in different ways, there is opportunity that only one of us can fill. We are all needed here and are complimenting each other well in ministry roles.
There is a fire that has ignited here and we hope that together with you, when we return, we can fan it into a blaze for Gods glory.
Thankyou for your prayers, we feel them physically.

The Welcoming Ceremony at Joylands

This was the beginning of a 45 minute dancing display from the school, seeking to rival the opening ceremony of an Olympics Game for the "honoured guests" from Australia.

The first 2 hectic days

Ok, we’ve managed to find an internet connection at last, and a few minutes to bring you up to speed. Where do I start? We’ve been here for nearly 2 full days, and it feels like a week has gone by. The flight here went fine, although of course was a long trek. We arrived at midnight local time and were immediately picked up by Brother Abraham and Sister Lata, the organisers of the trip. We drove to a nice hotel in downtown Hydrabad, and thought that traffic wasn’t all that different to home – but of course, that was at midnight. The next day that all changed. The traffic has to be seen to be believed. It is every man, woman, car, motorbike, rickshaw, bicycle, cat,dog and cow for themselves, all vying for their place, tooting constantly to signal their intentions to butt their way forward in traffic.

The hotel was fine, although very old looking and smelling. It was weird seeing just things that seemed so out of place, and obviously in need of repair just sitting there unseen to for apparently for years. Most things seemed to work ok, apart from the lock on our door, but we were planning to take our valuables with us anyway so that wasn’t an issue.

On Wednesday, our first day here, we had a good sleep in, and then were picked up to visit the Joyland school and orphanage which Brother Abraham and Sister Lata started in 1984. It is a ministry to the children of the area whose parents cannot afford to send them to school, and an orphanage as well. Apparently, many of its graduates grow up to be lawyers, doctor, missionaries and pastors. Several new churches have started from the kids who graduate to be pastors. WE drove in the front gate, and were taken aback by the welcoming committee. I will leave you to view the video of this to see for yourself.

The kids performed for about a good 45 minutes in the hot sun as if the royal family had arrived, and then we spent an hour or so talking to the children and inspecting their dormitories and eating rooms. It is a wonderful ministry. We go back there on Sunday to do an afternoon program for them.

We then went to a restaurant for the first of several delicious Indian meals we have had so far. The food has been delicious and the helpings huge. There we enjoyed the famous Hyderabad “Biryani”, which we promptly translated into Aussie vernacular as “Beer-yarn-ee mate”. (Kuala Lumpur was earlier translated “Koala Lump-a”).

WE then came home to the hotel for an afternoon nap, before heading north for Andre Pradesh, 140 kms northof Hydrabad, and the location of the pastors conference and evangelistic crusade which we will be holding for 3 days.

Love to you Ruth,
Phil

Craig now…
The drive? Um terrifying for some of us – exhilarating for others. I said to Phil it is like a car chase scene from the Bourne Identity but just not coordinated. We spent probably 2 hours of the 4 on the wrong side of the road forcing cars off so we could overtake (illegally?) slow trucks, rickshaws, motorbikes and cows!

We were woken this morning at 5am by the noise of morning prayers at the local mosque. Then we got word that there had been a protest overnight between 2 political parties – not religious – that was causing a ’bundt’ –a public shutdown where everyone is advised to stay home.

We went ahead after some serious prayer and 2 hours late the conf started. Paul and Phil have preached today and Craig will speak in gospel in stadium tonight.

Please thank God for the Pastors who came and ignored the bundt – it took courage. Please pray that God will step up mightily tonight.

Girls are currently 1 hour away visiting schools and kids and will return and meet us at 7pm local before the crusade.

Everyone is well – no sickness.

Hello to all our families – Rose insisted that I say that she loves her parents very much.

And I love you Melody.

Craig

Rose Again..

This is almost it you guys... 7:58 am and only 5 before we meet at the airport... look up at the accurate time of around approximately 4 something-ish and you may see 7 very excited very nervous people in a plane!

Just before I log out and buy a very much needed shower cap, and return some soon to be overdue books to the library I wanted to remind you to be in prayer for the people we are leaving back home.

You probably just read Lisa's blog and as you can see leaving her kids is not going to be easy on her, particularly on the leg of the trip where she is without Will. But God is there, for them and for her, pray that she feels that.

Remember the wives of the team too, being at home with their children, I can't imagine it's easy to sit back and relax with that kind of responsibility on your own while your husband is off at war (spiritual war that is).

And for us who are neither married nor mothers, i ask you to remember OUR mothers in prayer, as well as our fathers and siblings. Who knows this may just be a relaxing 2 week holiday at home for them, but most likely they will be worrying about us just a little bit.

I just want to end this blog saying, God keep you safe and bless you and your families.

Rose :)

ps. This is a shoutout to Tamara who didn't believe that i could actually write on here.
pps. LILY I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DIDN'T SAY BYE! I'll miss you and i love you.
PPPS- just realised i should emphasize when i said spiritual war, i was being metaphorical... this is a very peaceful, non violent or forceful trip :)

India here we come!

As i do the final touches to my packing and put my kids to sleep I feel that I need your prayers as I leave them both tomorrow.
It is harder than I thought but I know God is in control and he will be with them throughout these two week.
Pray that I am strong as I say my goodbyes tomorrow.

I should thank you all for coming on Saturday night to our fundraising dinner. It was a awesome night and God was present with us.

I cant emphasis enough on how much we all individually need your prayers as we leave our wives, children, and parents.

God bless

Wilson Update

The journey leading up to this mission trip has been amazing!

God has shown up every step of the way when we have needed him. I really praise God for being such a faithful God! I believe that God has a plan and purpose for everyones life and for this mission 2010 He wants me to be in Pakistan, spreading the Word to those who so desperately need to hear it. God has laid a special burden in my heart that he will use this trip to heal the broken hearted through His word and restore broken relationships. I believe that God wants us to be his children and have a deep relationship with Him.

I also believe that God wants me to be in Lahore while the team is in India. My VISA for India did not come through, so I will be flying on Wednesday to Pakistan, via KL, and will preach at a 2 day conference in Lahore.

I want to thank you for all the support you have given us. A special thank you to Panania Christian Church, who have supported us and encouraged us every step of the way.

We would like everybody to please pray for us, because God is going to do wonderful and supernatural things on this trip! The enemy will try to discourage and hinder us, so your prayers are essential!

Pakistan needs the gospel more than ever as the taliban moves in. Please pray!

How great is our God! All the Glory to God!

Some Photos of The Dinner

Craig's blogging in...

24 hours to go and the butterflies in my gut are fluttering more & more. Am not sure if I am nervous or excited, but now that it is so close, I must say that I am ready.

We have just had an amazingly encouraging weekend.
Sat night dinner was something special for me, I was stunned at the love & kindness of people, the financial support and presence of God in the room. Truly, I feel that all who were there are partnering with us on this trip.
Sunday at Panania Christian Church was also a special experience. God bless you church. And thankyou all for your thoughts, encouragements and promises of care for my family!

Personally, can you pray that I will be a clean vessel, fit for His use. That He will speak through my words and go beyond the inadequacy that I feel. Pray that I will be willing and able to be carried away in His presence.

God bless you all. Not in some airy fairy bless you way - but honestly, powerfully - may God bless you for all you are about to do on our behalf, for Jesus' sake.

Craig

From Rose

This is my first blog entry - ever - so here goes.

I just wanted to thank EVERYONE who came to our dinner tonight, I think that everyone was as encouraged as I was. Also thankyou to all those people who donated, without you this trip would have been alot harder.

Ok so, if you were at the dinner you would have gotten a prayer card with one of those magical little strips of magnet to make it stick to your fridge. Hopefully it is already up there because I can tell you, we are going to need your prayer.

Please don't think that praying is something that people at home feebly do to make themselves feel better. Praying is a weapon, it is OUR best defence against the devil, and God will hear yours on our behalf on our mission trip. That being said I would encourage you to be in prayer for us over the next day especially- this trip is something God wanted to happen, therefore it is something that Satan wants to end. It is alot of firsts for alot of us too, I know my life is changing alot when i get back (new job/first career) and satan can use that against me so i freak out on the trip and take my focus off Gods plan for me, but there are ALOT of firsts for the rest of the team too. To give you a little idea here are some of our firsts:

- first time overseas for some of us.
- first time meeting eachother for some of us.
- first time sharing a room for some of us.
- first time leaving our children ever for some of us.
- first time doing a mission trip for some of us.
- first time working with a translator for some of us.

There are alot of firsts, alot of potential distractions. Pray for us, that we keep our eyes on Jesus. Add this to your special magnety prayer card. We feel your prayers, and God has made miracles happen already and will continue to do so.
Your prayers are (as Craig loves to say) 'Coveted' - strong word, but it is very true. This team isnt just the 7 of us, it is us, and you and your prayers and God. BEcause of this i know we cannot fail.

I hope and pray that I will remember this, you will remember this and my team will remember this.
God bless you all.

Rose :)

The Dinner

Please pray that our dinner, to be held on Saturday the 13th February ,will be a great success, both to inform supporters of what we are up to, where we are going and how each one can pray, and also to raise the much needed funds to complete the trip.

Praise the Lord, we have raised more than 70% of the funds so far, and it is our prayer that by the end of the dinner we will have secured what remains in our budget, and will be able to travel on the Tuesday without any financial burdens.

If you are coming to the dinner, please remember to either dress formally (suit and tie etc, or come dressed in a traditional Indian or Pakistani outfit… if you know someone from either of these countries, they may be able to help you out.

See you there.
